Web Design
Gitlinks, a platform for analyzing code repositories, faced a critical challenge: users struggled with navigating and making sense of its complex data. The platform lacked a clear information hierarchy, making it difficult to surface key insights quickly.
Over six months, I led the redesign to simplify the experience. Following a successful redesign, Gitlinks was acquired by Infor, a multi-billion dollar enterprise software company.

To tackle these problems, I began with thorough research and competitor analysis.
The key insight was that both technical and non-technical users needed a tailored experience to manage and access data more efficiently. The redesign focused on creating a cleaner, more intuitive information hierarchy and standardizing the design across the platform, resulting in a consistent user experience.

The website served as Gitlinks' public-facing entry point and played a key role in both educating users and driving engagement. However, the original design was cluttered and made it difficult for potential users to understand the value of the platform quickly.
Key improvements included:
Simplified Messaging: I worked with the marketing team to clarify Gitlinks' value proposition, making the content more accessible to technical and non-technical users alike.
Streamlined Navigation: The navigation was redesigned to prioritize the most important user flows, reducing the number of steps needed to find key information.
Modernized Aesthetic: The visual design was updated to reflect a more modern, professional look, aligning with Gitlinks' growing brand presence.
These changes resulted in increased engagement and a clearer understanding of Gitlinks’ core features for prospective users.

The response to the redesign was overwhelmingly positive. Both internal teams and external users reported improved efficiency and a more enjoyable user experience.
The learning curve was significantly reduced, and users could now accomplish tasks faster and with greater confidence. Ultimately, the redesign resulted in a more cohesive, streamlined platform that catered to the diverse needs of its user base, helping Gitlinks grow and retain its user community.
